I conduct one-on-one interviews with my team at least once a year and I love them. They encourage great conversations, inspire new ideas, uncover gaps, and discover new ambitions and skills my team wants to pursue.

Below is a list of the questions I recently asked my team, including my favorite: “What can I do to make your job more fun?” Because what’s the point of getting up in the morning if we can’t look forward to a little fun?

We are often tasked with setting goals, but too often we get caught up in completing immediate tasks instead of planning for the right long-term strategies that can bring growth. Clark challenges us to break from our daily to-do lists and have “strategic patience” when tackling long-term goals.
