There are some great leadership books out there. But, if you have read those books and are looking for some new inspiration, we have a different list we think is worth checking out. The resulting view through a new lens allows us to focus on new approaches to work, become more efficient, and think about things just a little differently. These books have provided some great inspiration for memorable moments, deep work, telling our story, and serious fun...

The Power of Moments

Moments can be fleeting, but they can have tremendous impact. We like finding opportunities to make that impact in even the smallest spaces. This book provided lots of inspiration as we looked at onboarding and customer relationships. Taking the time to be thoughtful and bring a level of authenticity to the slightest interaction can set the tone for your business and your leadership. We call these peak moments.

Grit

Many people have talent, intelligence, and high IQs. But talent, intelligence, and IQ are not the only ingredients for success. One of the most important ingredients you need is GRIT. Grit is passion and persistence applied toward long-term achievement, with no specific concern for recognition or praise along the way.

Creativity, Inc.

“If you give a good idea to a mediocre team, they will screw it up. If you give a mediocre idea to a brilliant team, they will either fix it or throw it away and come up with something better."

Getting the right team with the right chemistry is more important than getting the ideas right. Creativity, Inc. provides insights into how the challenges of growth and change reflect your company's values and leadership.

Emotional Agility

As humans, we're prone to common feelings – sadness, fear, self-doubt, shame, anger – that can steer us in the wrong direction. Being emotionally agile doesn't mean you're immune to these feelings; it just means you have the ability to face them head-on, adapt, and move past them to bring your best self forward.

Deep Work

Distractions are everywhere and, quite honestly, they're often overwhelming. The hard part is they aren't going anywhere. This book is a great resource for focusing in and doing the deep work you need and want to do. We loved this book so much it was the focus of our May blog.
